Bishop James Carroll’s Ordination Chalice
Bishop Carroll’s family and friends presented this baroque chalice to him on the occasion of his ordination to the priesthood. His mother’s engagement diamond was set in the base of the chalice on his tenth anniversary. This chalice dates to the 1850’s.
Bishop James Carroll’s Chalice
St. Pius V Chapel presented this gift to Bishop Carroll when he was consecrated a bishop. It is a Gothic chalice with 53 miner’s cut diamonds and is known as “The Rosary Chalice” in honor of the 53 Hail Marys of the Rosary. This chalice dates to the late 1800’s.
Bishop Joseph Santay’s Chalice
Bishop Santay’s Gothic chalice depicts the Holy Family in sterling silver medallions on the base. His family presented this gift to him on the occasion of his ordination.
Father Colin Buckley’s Chalice
This chalice was given to Father Hugh O’Reilly, C.S.Sp. (Congregation of the Holy Ghost), as an ordination gift from his uncle in 1958. Father Hugh, as his family always called him, was ordained by Archbishop McQuaid for the Congregation of the Holy Ghost Fathers. He served in this Congregation his entire life and was always traditionally minded. Over sixty years after his own ordination, Fr. Hugh gave this chalice to Father Colin Buckley, the grandson of his first cousin, Elizabeth Cunningham. Father Hugh passed away on February 1, 2016, just a few months after Father Buckley’s ordination. May God rest his soul.
Father Shane Buckley’s Chalice
Father Shane Buckley’s family presented this chalice to him on the occasion of his ordination.
Father James Curatolo’s Chalice
Father Curatolo’s chalice depicts the twelve Apostles. His family presented this gift to him on the occasion of his ordination.
Father Sebastian Fantz’s Chalice
This chalice was given to Bishop Clarence Kelly in 1978 by Peynenborg Hamers. When Father Fantz was ordained to the priesthood, Bishop Kelly gifted it to him.
Father Paul Krug’s Chalice
This antique neo-Gothic chalice was made in the 1920’s. The hand-engraved silver medallions depict the Flight into Egypt, the Agony in the Garden, and the Crucifixion. It was presented to Father Krug for his ordination.
Father Michael Martin’s Chalice
This solid sterling silver Romanesque chalice was given to Father Martin on the occasion of his ordination. It was presented to him by his family, in memory of his grandparents Michael and Susanne Marshall.
Father Matthew Newman’s Chalice
This chalice was presented to the Very Reverend F. A. Mulcahy on September 6, 1895. In 1944, Monsignor Mulcahy gifted it to Father Francis E. Fenton, one of his altar boys who was ordained a priest. Father Fenton was a pioneer in holding to the traditional Catholic Faith in the wake of Vatican II. When he died, he bequeathed the chalice to his friends Ron and Mary Tihista, with the instructions that they were to give it to a validly ordained priest. On the occasion of Father Newman’s ordination to the priesthood, Ron and Mary Tihista, his grandparents, gave Father Newman this chalice.
Father Benjamin Selway’s Chalice
Father Selway’s family presented this baroque chalice to him on the occasion of his ordination to the priesthood. This chalice dates to the mid-19th century. On the cup are images of Our Lord, Our Lady and St. Paul. On the base are traditional representations of the three theological virtues, faith, hope and charity.
Father Paul Skierka’s Chalice
This Gothic chalice dates from 1902. It was presented to Father Skierka in 2006 for his ordination. After his mother’s death in 2017, Father Skierka had her engagement ring placed on the front of the chalice. Father added a second ring, containing 12 diamonds, to the back of the chalice. This ring was given to Mrs. Skierka by her husband Fred on their 25th wedding anniversary. The diamonds represent the couple’s 12 children.
Father Leo Veitkus’ Chalice
This neo-Gothic chalice depicts scenes from the life of Our Lord and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Some unique scenes are the espousals of Mary and Joseph, the Annunciation, the Nativity, and Our Lord calling the Apostles. It was given to Father Veitkus as an ordination gift from his family.

Congregation’s Ceremony Chalice
The Congregation acquired this chalice in 2007. It is a neo-Gothic chalice with angels holding instruments of the Passion. It is used on special occasions and during Passiontide.
